Symptoms of the 29th Week of Pregnancy

By the time you are 29 weeks pregnant, you have already reached your third trimester and your baby has grown immensely. The baby should be around three pounds in weight at this time and has a fully developed brain and organs. Your baby can laugh, cough and even see through the womb when there is enough lighting. You do not have a lot of space in your womb and you are less likely to feel the kicks of the baby. The space in your womb is getting tighter as the weight of the baby will almost double from this time to the time it is ready to be born.

Sometimes, babies will be born prematurely at 29 weeks but the chances of survival at this point are more than 90%, so you do not need to worry. It is at this point in your pregnancy that you will retain a lot of water in your hands, feet, face and torso. You may need to see your physician if the swelling is too much. Edema calls for a lot of rest and ensuring that you prop your feet up when seated. Drink numerous glasses of water and eat a lot of fresh fruits as it will supply you with water.
